The Lost Pictures

Sometimes the picture is there—it’s perfect—but I have no way to hold it.

No camera in sight to grasp the moment. My missed opportunities, the lost pictures.

There are others that I misplaced; the memories I captured but still lost. No paper or bytes to preserve them, the memories grow dimmer.

I wish I still had them. I wish I had shot them.

That I’d had something: a trigger, a negative, a shutter.

So they could stay with me just a second more.
